We are not even in March but we wish Ghana month were here already due to the goodies lined up to keep you entertained every day in the coming month.
This year’s edition of the March Movie Marathon is going to be unprecedented. We are unpacking a whole box of exciting movies that will keep you glued to Akwaaba Magic for a long time.
From action to drama, suspense, family moments, and steamy affairs, every other theme imaginable will be represented in the movies that are coming in March.
Here are a few of the extraordinary movies to expect in Ghana month.
THE PURSE: An unrepentant petty thief finds his life complicated when he steals a purse containing protection charms belonging to a ruthless criminal gang, who are sworn to do whatever it takes to get it back. Will the thief evade the gang or will he be able to use the purse to get the biggest payday yet? Don’t miss The Purse premiering on 6 March on Akwaaba Magic.
NSA FUFUO: Kwappiah, a struggling palm wine tapper in his 50s, discovers that mixing palm wine with herbs benefits men with sexual weakness, leading him and his loyal friend Kwata to start a thriving business. Despite their success, the local Palm Wine Association opposes their trade and pressures them to stop. Kwaappiah wishes to avoid conflict and leave the business, but Kwata refuses, sparking a rift between the lifelong friends. Nsa fufuo premieres right here on Ghana’s Most Loved Storyteller on 9 March.
APAM BA: Maa Abena, cursed to lose any man she becomes intimate with, decides to remain celibate despite her love for childhood friend, Minta. When an ancient family curse is revealed, her mother Aba makes the ultimate sacrifice to break the curse and free her daughter from its hold. This is a story of love and how far a mother will go to see her daughter smile. Apam Ba premieres on 16 March. Don’t miss it!
KPAKPO MY HUSBAND: Lured by her good meals and the comfort she provides; a married man accepts the advantages of a local food seller till he finds himself trapped in a relationship that threatens to ruin his home. Check out Kpakpo My Husband on 30 March.
MRS DANQUAH’S KITCHEN: Madame Danquah is bored in her 5-year marriage. Her kitchen and social media fans keep her occupied, but everything becomes spicy once she discovers magical spices that can change her husband’s character. Mrs. Danquah experiments with different combinations of spices to make her husband more handsome, strong, sexually prowess, and wise until she cooks the perfect husband. But is she the perfect wife for him? Find out on 30 March on Akwaaba Magic.
SIKA FR3 MOGYA: Nkuduo, a former harlot, forces her daughter Benewaa into marriage with the wealthy gold miner Sikapa in exchange for financial security, despite Benewaa secretly loving Kankam, one of Sikapa’s trusted workers. When their forbidden affair is exposed, Kankam is murdered, and Benewaa, trapped in a loveless marriage, suspects Sikapa but remains silent to avoid disgrace. TIMELINE: When Dave Magnus is involved in an accident and ends up in a coma, his restless spirit leaves his body in search of the truth and what he finds in the eyes of those who would leave to make him opens a window of secret in his soul
At the end of it all, and between his wife, his cousin, his aunt, and a little boy lying unconscious in the theater, Dave must make one choice to alter his TIMELINE. Watch this epic movie on 7 March.
MEET THE JACOBS: The matriarch of the Jacobs family has always got her way with things but she’s at her wit ends when an unexpected guest stops by. This showdown is happening on 17 March.
OUT OF BOUNDS: Jerry Mensah is married to fashion designer guru Nana Mensah and when her inability to have children becomes a plague in their marriage, they finally resort to having an IVF procedure also desperately needing a surrogate. Then comes Diane her estranged sister just been released from prison and is seeking to open up a new chapter in her life When Nana approaches her to become the surrogate all seems well and good as she undergoes implantation and is confirmed pregnant. Then all hell breaks loose for Diane who is on a path of revenge. Don’t miss Out Of Bounds showing on 25 March.
40 LOOKS GOOD ON YOU: When five best friends who met at the university made a pact to succeed in life no matter what before they all hit 40years will do anything to make that happen even if it means living a lie
Yaaba, Stacy, Mawusi, Ruth, and Araaba gave the perfect plan for their lives, careers, and relationships. Everything is all figured out to the latter but they are in for a surprise when life throws each of them a curve ball. Watch this movie on 12 March.
JEZEBEL: Collins is a successful ‘tech bro’ who is about to be married to the only girl he has ever dated; Lucy. He is book-smart but too soft at heart, maybe a little too good for his own sake.
Just before he finds out that Lucy has gotten cold feet and is calling off the wedding as she thinks they should date other people, he finds out that a recent audit on his company has revealed misappropriation of funds. Upon dealing with a broken heart, he finds himself also trying to save his company. He meets with a representative from the board of directors who lets him know that the board does not think he is fit to lead the company anymore and so they have voted to bring in a specialist to intervene. A specialist in the person of CHANTEL, also known in the corporate space as JEZEBEL. This thrilling suspense-filled movie will air on 16 March.
